Debi O’Dell

Artist’s bio

Debi ODell is a native West Virginian who has traveled to Myrtle Beach for many years. She and her husband, Ken, retired here in 2017. 

Debi taught high school and college in West Virginia for over 36 years. Always interested in the arts, Debi waited until after retirement to pursue that interest and reinvent herself. Using authentic sea glass from around the world, Debi creates small framed pieces of artwork. Some are whimsical. Some abstract and some realistic. 

She also creates fabulous pieces of jewelry. 

Debi teaches classes and enjoys sharing her art and meeting new people. 

Artist’s statement

If I may quote Picasso, art washes from the soul the dust of every day life. By chasing art I find peace and dreams. Art has helped me reinvent myself and I’m loving it.
