A Creative Summer Experience for Young Artists

This summer, Vision Arts Academy invites young creatives to step into the world of drawing and painting through an immersive hands-on art camp designed to build confidence, creativity, and foundational artistic skills.

In this inspiring week-long academy, students will explore the timeless fundamentals of art using methods rooted in traditional atelier-style training while embracing the joyful, supportive atmosphere that Vision Arts Academy is known for. Through observation, imagination, and guided instruction, students will learn how artists truly “see” the world—discovering shape, form, light, color, and composition through daily creative projects.

Each day builds upon the next as students progress from drawing basic shapes and perspective to creating fully realized still-life drawings and paintings. Along the way, they’ll strengthen artistic confidence, sharpen observation skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for the beauty found in everyday life.

Students will explore:

  • Drawing basic forms and shapes

  • Perspective and spatial awareness

  • Light, shadow, and creating volume

  • Color theory and paint mixing

  • Still-life drawing and painting

  • Creative expression through observation

Every Friday, students will celebrate their accomplishments with a special gallery-style showcase and catered lunch for family and friends.

Join Believes Mosaics for a special Summer Art Academy extended-day experience designed for young artists ages 10+ of all skill levels. Students will create their own colorful mini mosaic ornament using a variety of materials, textures, and beach-inspired designs.

Each participant will choose 3 ornaments to create from a playful collection of shapes including hearts, fish, palm trees, dog bones, starfish, bees, seahorses, birds, ducks, houses, keys, and more. Finished ornaments are approximately 4" each and make the perfect keepsake, gift, or creative summer memory.

Join artist/instructor, Kevin Anderson for a course focused on drawing the human figure using a classical technique with a live demonstrations and practical application of the concepts using a live model. 

​We will practice the classical concepts and techniques of the old masters to work on composition, proportion block-in, and form/volume building. We will use these learned techniques to bring our drawing in pencil, charcoal, pastel, and paint to the next level of artistic expression.

  • ​​​​​When: We meet for 5 hours per month from 9am-2pm, beginning Saturday June 20th, 2026 (then the 3rd Saturday of each month)

Who should take the class?

Anyone who wants instruction on how to classically draw (or paint) the human figure. The class is set up for students who want to devote time in 2026 to significantly improve their skills and to be able to execute figure drawings with much more confidence.

​​​​​What to expect during the class ….

  1. Instruction. Classical figure drawing terms, concepts, technique. Explained using original artwork and by the study of old masters.

  2. Guided learning. Instructor demonstration of each of the four key steps to drawing the figure.  

  3. ​​​Practice the technique. Students will spend the majority of the time practicing and drawing from a live model, putting into practice the class concepts, while the Instructor provides individual critique and guidance.

Using a 12x12 canvas panel and a variety of mixed media materials, students will explore composition, collage, typography, texture, layering, color, and visual storytelling while designing a one-of-a-kind album cover artwork.
