Deep Dive: The Art & Alchemy of Acrylics is an 8-week immersive course designed to build confidence, skill, and creative freedom through color, movement, texture, and intentional play. This course balances structure with intuition. You’ll explore foundational skills like color theory, composition, and layering while experimenting with flow, texture, gesture, and abstraction. Deep Dive: The Art & Alchemy of Acrylics is an 8-week immersive course designed to build confidence, skill, and creative freedom through color, movement, texture, and intentional play. Guided by professional instruction in a supportive gallery setting, students will learn expressive acrylic techniques while discovering their own unique artistic voice.

This course balances structure with intuition. You’ll explore foundational skills like color theory, composition, and layering while experimenting with flow, texture, gesture, and abstraction. Each painting is developed over two sessions, allowing time to explore, refine, and confidently finish your work.

By the end of the series, students will leave with three finished, original acrylic paintings, each created on professional gallery-wrapped canvas, ready to hang and enjoy at home—along with the confidence and skills to continue painting independently.

Using the 8 Principles of Design—contrast, unity, balance, proportion, harmony, rhythm, repetition, and emphasis—you’ll learn how to notice light, pattern, color, detail, and emotion, and turn everyday moments into images that feel alive and meaningful.

Mosaic Mastery is a 6-week foundational mosaic course designed for beginners and creative souls ready to explore the ancient art of mosaic.

(week 4)

From your very first cut to your final polished piece, you’ll learn the essential techniques that transform individual tesserae into a cohesive work of art. Over six immersive weeks, you’ll build confidence, skill, and creative momentum.

You’ll learn:
• Preparation of the base
• Design development & color selection
• Choosing tesserae
• Cutting techniques
• Dry fitting your project
• Gluing
• Grouting & polishing

Each week builds intentionally:

Week 1: Vision & Foundation
Week 2: The Art of the Cut + Dry Fit

In this 6-week Pen & Ink drawing class, artist and instructor Marlene Davis invites you to loosen up, trust your hand, and discover the expressive power of ink. Using pens, fine liners, and simple techniques, you’ll learn how lines, patterns, texture, and shading can bring drawings to life.

This class is perfect for beginners and returning artists alike. You’ll explore contour drawing, cross-hatching, mark-making, and playful experimentation—learning how “mistakes” often become the most interesting part of the artwork. Over 6 weeks, you’ll create a collection of finished drawings while developing confidence, style, and a stronger drawing foundation.

Discover the art of urban sketching in this immersive 6-week Saturday series led by teaching artist Ann Alexander at Vision Arts Gallery in Myrtle Beach.

This beginner-friendly yet skill-building class introduces students to expressive line work, basic perspective, and watercolor techniques while capturing everyday scenes. Students will progress from photo-based sketches to confident on-location drawing, developing a loose, personal sketching style that blends observation with creative expression.

Each week builds upon the last—starting with foundational line and shape, adding watercolor washes, and moving into speed sketching and real-world environments. Indoor studio sessions transition into outdoor and on-location sketching, helping students gain confidence, flexibility, and creative flow.

By the end of the course, students will have a collection of sketches, a deeper understanding of line-and-wash techniques, and the confidence to sketch anywhere—from cafés and city streets to travel adventures and daily life.

Mosaic Wednesdays - The Basics II

Welcome to the vibrant, tactile, and slightly addictive world of mosaics.

Hands-on 4-hour workshop where you will design and complete a unique mosaic using pre-cut tiles, beads and ceramics novelties to create a mosaic.

You will choose between 2 different 8’’bases: Fish or Butterfly.

What you will learn:

• Brigitte will guide you step-by-step through the different steps: how to prepare the wood base, envisioning the design, positioning the tiles, gluing the tiles, grouting and cleaning the piece.

What you will experience:

• Create one-of-a-kind of piece of mosaic, using your inspiration and creativity to mix forms and colors. At the end of the workshop, you will have a finished, personalized mosaic artwork, perfect for gifting or displayed at home.
